Mimulus whipplei, a dicot in the family Scrophulariaceae, is an annual herb that is native to California and believed to be extinct(questionable) [Lum/Walker]. It is included by the California Native Plant Society on list 1A (presumed extinct) [CNPS 2003].

this is now regarded as a synonym of Erythranthe marmorata (Green) Nesom, which is extant
