Note: Aeonium mascaense is listed as Extinct in the Wild in the 2000 Redlist of Threatenened Plants of Spain but is mentioned as rare or threatened in other publications. Therefor that Tenerife is the only place on earth were this plant has occurred i've decided to take the Official red list entry as most current data.

Hi ! This plant is not extinct in the wild, but it may be soon. There is still one place where this species can be found but this place is kept as a secret by those who know it. from here:
www.rareplants.de/shop/product.asp?strParents=74&CAT_ID=584&P_ID=6468
"20cm, a small compact species from the famous Barranco de Masca on Tenerife on the far Western side of the island at some 350m. As it is extremely rare and endangered in nature, we will tell the exact locality only to scientific staff member of botanical gardens on request. It is an utmost ornamental small plant with highly succulent leaves with a middle red margin and red shades all over. Rosettes are similar to those of Aeonium haworthii, yet much smaller and more compact. It is a densely branching species, forming nice compact plants in time. Due to its small size it is an excellent plant for a pot cultivation on a sunny window sill."
