Hibiscadelphus giffardianus
family: Malvaceae
The genus is endemic to the Hawaiian Islands and is known from species which are Extinct or Critically Endangered.

This species was found in the kipuka Puaulu on Hawai'i / Hawaiian Islands.
BTW: A kipuka is a small remainig patch of forest left by the lava flow of an volcanic eruption.
As I see now it is considered as extinct. Sorry I did not know it and posted it in the wrong categorie.

Species occurs still in cultivation:
Hibiscadelphus giffardianus - In 1910 Joseph Rock discovered a single tree at Kīpuka Puaulu, now part of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. This tree died in 1930, but cuttings of this tree were saved. Several hundred individuals have since been planted in the park.
