Serruria furcellata
faymily: Proteaceae
Only a single plant of the Kraaifontain Spiderhead still remains - it is therefore a living dead psecies. (think of 'Lonesome George')
It seems impossible to progagate this species in any way.

Extinct - in cultivation at University of Western Cape and Kirstenboschsource: protea.worldonline.co.za/spider3.htm********* So, is it extinct or extinct in the wild only? Why is it not possible to tell that exactly? I mean, if a species is still in cultivation then it isn't extinct.
