Justification:
Bulbophyllum minax is known only from the collection of the type specimen in 1919. It has an area of occupancy (AOO) of 9 km2 and it occurs in only one subpopulation, representing one location. This species does not occur within protected areas and it experiences continuing decline due to deforestation. It is therefore assessed as Critically Endangered and is Possibly Extinct. Further field research is recommended for this species.

Range Description: This species is endemic to Madagascar where it grows in the province of Fianarantsoa at elevations of 1,500 to 1,999 m asl (Hermans et al. 2007).
