Justification:
Bulbophyllum sanguineum has an area of occupancy of 9 km2 and is known from a single subpopulation, representing one location. Even though this species occurs within a protected area, it experiences continuing decline due to illicit collection and deforestation. It is therefore assessed as Critically Endangered and is Possibly Extinct as it was last seen in 1925. Further field research is recommended for this species.
